c'est bizarre, c'est fou, c'est bô

Avec un principe tout simple, des matériaux tous bêtes, pas mal de folie et de drôles d'idées, et souvant un travail de fourmi, certains arrivent à créer de l'émouvant, de l'étonnant, de l'original, sur un support parfois temporaire, voire evanescent. La Nature aussi parfois est artiste, du moins, ses arabesques résonnent à nos sens, ou ses soubressauts nous évoquent une forme de vie. Dans ce qui suit, le bizarre, le fou, le beau, peut surgir de toute origine, sur tout support, à toute échelle.

Typographie: qu'est-ce qu'un A ?

Dans "Metamagical Themas: Questing for the Essence of Mind and Pattern", Douglas R. Hofstadter consacre un chapitre à la question "qu'est-ce qui caractérise l'essence d'une lettre de l'alphabet" ? (chap 13, "Metafont, Metamathematics, and Metaphysics"). Il y montre moultes illustrations de ce que la question n'a rien de simple: tout usager des caractères latins s'y retrouve sans ambiguité (bien qu'existent les ambigrammes); par contre la même table avec un caractère kanji ne nous semble rien comporter de commun.
